The 2021 World Music Festival @ Taiwan, held by the Bureau of Audio-Visual and Music Industry Development of the Ministry of Culture and executed by Wind Music, will take place from October 29th to 31st at the Taipei Dajia Riverside Park. The event was canceled last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This year for all attendance to get brand new experiences, and to prevent the spread of the epidemic we follow the epidemic prevention regulations strictly, and reorganized the event.

In addition to the live music festival, this year’s World Music Festival @ Taiwan will feature online matching program, Online Connection for Music Industry Professionals, to better promote Taiwan’s original music to a global audience and to connect with professionals worldwide.

​

Also a first, this year’s event is being curated in cooperation with an overseas organization, Small World Music (which heads Global Toronto), in such aspects as performances, lectures, and our Online Connection platform, giving the event a more internationalized scale and vision.

​

18 groups will perform at the event, including two from abroad: two who will participate online, Tio Chornhi and Bantü Salsa, via cooperation with Global Toronto. Also, online will be six lectures on varying topics by speakers from all over the world: one by three Taiwanese music festival curators of different generations, one by Taiwanese musicians on creating music, two arranged in cooperation with Global Toronto on issues related to music, and two on musical instruments by speakers from abroad.
